The Heron Quill studio table

About

A small stationery house on the north shore.

Heron Quill is designed in Mandeville, Louisiana, on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain. We make notecards, journals, and memorial cards in small batches, printed on heavy paper by independent presses in the United States.

Louisiana cypress swamp at dawn

Designed here

Every line is drawn by hand. The herons, the cypress, the magnolia, the slow curve of a bayou. These are not stock illustrations. They come from a quiet studio with a window facing the lake and a small library of natural history books.

We work close to the source. The Gulf Coast is the brief and the limit.

Small batch, on purpose

We started Heron Quill because the things we wanted to write on were not the things we could find. The line is small on purpose. We add what we love and we let what does not sell quietly go.

Our paper is heavy. Our envelopes are kraft. Our printing partners are independent presses in the United States. Each order ships from a real studio with a real person checking the work.

Designed in Louisiana

Hand-drawn illustrations from a studio in Mandeville.

Printed in the US

Heavy paper, independent presses, three-to-five day production.

Quiet correspondence

We do not believe in louder. A short note on heavy paper is enough.
